All 74 players sold to all 10 franchises on Day 1 of IPL 2022 auction
Only 97 players went under the hammer during the IPL2022 mega-auction on the opening day in place of the scheduled 161 but there was a great deal of excitement for all ten franchises. A total of 74 players were sold – out of which 20 were overseas – with 3,88,10,00,000 being the winning bid.
The Indian duo of Ishan Kishan and Deepak Chahar stole the show, as both reacquired star players with jaw-dropping amounts. Mumbai Indians purchased 23 year old Kishan for a staggering *15.25 crore, while Chennai Super Kings bought the former in a fierce bidding war.
